iHemp is one of the earliest domesticated plants known. This term is often used to refer only to Cannabis Strains cultivated for industrial (non-drug) use. It is one of the fastest growing biomasses known and one of the earliest domesticated plants known. It also runs parallel with the "Green Future" objectives that are becoming increasingly popular.China, Germany, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Austria, Turkey, Cananda and United States of America are using iHemp and products of iHemp.

The objective of the conference was to bring together the government officials, the international hemp industries and organisations and all segments of the Indian private industries to examine the importance of Industiral Hemp in the world economy and assess the opportunities that exist.

The conference was organised by Indian Industrial Hemp Association (IIHA) in association with WASME (World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises), European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), iHemp Foods (Australia) and iHemp Age.

iHemp (Industrial Hemp) is the common name for plants of the entire cannabis. This term is often used to refer only to cannabis strains cultivated for industrial (non-drug) use. Industrial hemp has many uses, including paper, textiles, biodegradable plastics, construction, health food and fuel. International iHemp experts from various parts of the world were present there as the speakers and also showcased their products.

The main aim of the conference was to provide a leading opportunity for various industries, governments and international agencies to discuss, first hand, the uses of Industrial Hemp and the ways and means to increase the visibility of the industry in multilateral negotiations. The members of the International Hemp association expressed their gratitude towards IIHA for taking this initiative of organising this type of unique conference in India for the first time.
