Dr. Kavya Dashora
Dr. Kavya Dashora is a Deputy Director (Science) at CABI South Asia, India Office. Her major responsibilities includes handling key institutional projects with stakeholders like World Bank, GEF, UNEP, ADB, WFP, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment, Forest and climate change and several corporate houses. She is a PhD in Plant Pathologyon biology, epidemiology and control of Smut Disease on Bajra in Rajasthan and has PRINCE2TMcertified project management from APMG UK. Policy influence and development, strategic roadmap planning system development from producer to end user, market support access for key programme implementation, monitoring and impact assessment for improving the livelihoods and food security of smallholder farmers, efficient and sustainable industry linkages, gender assessment etc are some of the areas of her expertise. In her earlier stint she participated in preparing a concept paper for UNFAO, Bangkok: ‘Trans-boundary pests and diseases in Asia and Pacific: Emerging Problems, Challenges and Opportunities’ etc and has visited India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Philippines, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kenya, Switzerland, and UK for work.
